Artur Baranov
Artur Baranov is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Political Science at Northwestern University. His research sits at the intersection of authoritarian studies and legislative politics, examining how legislative institutions contribute to the stability of authoritarian regimes and how these institutions adapt to the evolving challenges such regimes face. His work draws on quantitative and data science methods, with a regional specialization in the post-Soviet space and Eastern Europe.
Prior to joining Northwestern, I studied Political Science at University College Dublin in Ireland, Tor Vergata University of Rome in Italy, and the Higher School of Economics in Russia. Previously, I worked at the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation as a transparency auditor.
